Age Verification

Main Project Image

AgeVerif, a new age verification platform. Designed from the ground up, with new features and a more modern, effective experience.

As age verification moves from a nice-to-have to a legal and social expectation, platforms face a difficult balance, protecting minors without turning verification into a barrier for everyone else. AgeVerif sits exactly at this crossroads. This case study explores the UX/UI design journey behind a new generation of the platform, turning age verification from a friction-heavy checkpoint into a fast, trustworthy and intuitive experience. More than a redesign, this project rethought the product itself, the same market, but a practically new platform, with new features, a more modern interface and a more effective way to verify age. The result shifts the experience from slow verification to a cohesive, transparent and privacy-conscious digital environment.

My Role: - Lead UX/UI Designer; - Product strategy contributor; - Design system creation for the new AgeVerif platform.

Main goals: A key objective was to structure and design the platform across two distinct environments: the public-facing verification experience and the private, authenticated areas for webmasters. - Reduce friction in the verification process, so legitimate users are verified quickly and with fewer steps; - Improve clarity of verification states and outcomes (verified, pending, failed) at every point of the journey; - Automate repetitive steps, such as reusing an existing verification instead of starting over; - Build trust through clear, transparent communication about privacy and how verification works; - Keep a consistent design language across both contexts.
